Falling in Love with Loki
I always thought of the concept of "two people, getting lost into one another's eyes" as way too cheesy. As in, unrealistic and kind of ridiculous. That is, until it happened to me.
Back then I never would have thought I'd ever be attracted to Loki of all people. I knew him well, both as a prince and as my best friend's brother, and yet I had never really paid him any attention at all.
That day, I fell. Quite litteraly. It looked straight out of a book : I was walking down the stairs without paying attention to my surroundings. I didn't notice there was still one step left before I could reach the ground. I fell. Thankfully Loki, who was going up, grabbed me right before I hit the floor, pulled me up and... Well. It happened.
I looked up to thank him, to express my relief and gratitude, but instead I found this pair of deep, worried eyes and my breath was taken away. All words were forgotten as I stared with eyes still wet from the fear I'd previously felt. The world around us vanished away and I could only watch as his expression morphed into one probably very much similar to mine. He too was admiring. He too was wondering. Who are you ? What are you passionate about ? What makes you happy, what makes you sad ? What do you think about when I catch you staring off into the distance ? Most importantly, why am I only asking myself those questions now ?
"I love you." Loki spoke.
Silence.
I stared, not allowing myself to breathe.
"Uh, wait..." He frowned. "What ?"
"Yeah, I- uh- I think I fell in love with you for a second there ?" I half-stated, half-questioned, getting back on my feet and he let go, slowly. Curiosity painted his face and I simply couldn't *not* stare. It was only after long minutes that I realized we were back to that love-at-first-sight state and I broke the silence. "That doesn't mean I will- uh- keep... I mean..."
"Yes." Loki interrupted. "Right. Let's-"
"Not talk about this ever again ? Alright. On it."
